This 46" Sharp LCD has a resolution that is referred to as Full HD (1080p). With a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080, the latest Sharp is fully compatible with not only High Definition broadcasts (currently at 720p), but also Blu-ray and HD-DVD (1080p). Yet it's not just the resolution that stands out here. TruD anti-judder technology gives contrast and sharpness enhancement, as well as smoother playback from DVDs and other video media - particularly from High Definition TV sources. Combine this with a fast 6ms response time, a contrast ratio of 1200:1 and a 4-Wavelength backlight for brilliant colour, and you have a stunning picture quality whatever the format.

Yet Sharp haven't left it at that. With a built-in, card equipped, Freeview tuner, the LC46XD1E offers all the advantages of Freeview without the need for an extra box. Twin HDMI sockets also make it possible to plug both an HDTV receiver and Blu-ray or HD DVD through the LC46XD1E.
